2 years agoThe Detroit Tigers are calling up outfield prospect Riley Greene on Friday, and he'll make his major league debut on Saturday against the Texas Rangers. In a corresponding move, outfielder Austin Meadows will be placed on the COVID-19 injured list. Greene, the No. 2 overall prospect in baseball per MLB Pipeline, was on his way to making the Opening Day roster before fracturing his foot late in spring training. The 21-year-old hit .279/.347/.382 with a homer, eight RBI and four stolen bases in 17 games for Triple-A Toledo and Single-A Lakeland, and he should see everyday playing time in center field for the Tigers. Grab him immediately in all fantasy leagues if he's available. Meadows recently returned from a bout on the lL due to vertigo, and now he's dealing with COVID.
