3 years agoDetroit Tigers outfield prospect Riley Greene (foot) was given a preliminary timetable of six to eight weeks after he fractured his foot while fouling a ball off himself in the Grapefruit League game on Friday, according to a source. The good news is that the fracture is on the bottom part of his foot, which could mean a slightly shorter recovery period. Greene will likely have to rehab in the minors for a bit before the Tigers consider allowing him to make his MLB debut. The 21-year-old was pushing to open the year on the Opening Day roster alongside fellow prospect Spencer Torkelson before his injury. Greene profiles as Detroit's eventual starting center fielder with intriguing power upside, but for now, Victor Reyes will likely open the season as the Tigers starter in center.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
