3 years agoDetroit Tigers outfield prospect Riley Greene (foot), who is fully recovered from a fractured right foot that he suffered at the end of spring training, will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Low-A Lakeland on Friday, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation. The 21-year-old will play center field for five innings on Friday and serve as the designated hitter on Saturday for nine innings. Barring any setbacks, he'll then move to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday and is expected to play Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. His timetable to make his season debut for the Tigers is unknown, but he figures to become the team's regular center fielder sooner than later. Greene is the team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and the No. 2 overall prospect in baseball.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
