Riley Pint Rejoins Rockies
3 years agoRight-handed pitcher Riley Pint, who was selected fourth overall by the Colorado Rockies in 2016, has unretired and rejoined the team, according to player development director Chris Forbes. The 24-year-old had a 100 mph fastball in high school but went 4-20 with a 5.56 ERA in 68 minor league games in 40 starts over five seasons. Pint had a 6.75 ERA in 10 relief outings for High-A Spokane through early June last year when he decided to retire. He had 59 walks and 26 wild pitches in 93 innings in 2017 and 31 walks and 18 wild pitches in 17 2/3 innings in 2019. Pint, who stands at 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, will obviously need to find some control if he wants to make a comeback through the Rockies minor league system.
