Rob Gronkowski A Low-End TE1 For Thursday
4 years agoDespite not putting up the numbers fantasy managers have become accustomed to, there is some fantasy value for Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski in Week 5. With the Bucs dealing with wideout injuries across the board, Gronk could see more targets come his way. Chris Godwin and Justin Watson will not be playing and both Mike Evans and Scotty Miller are hobbled. This means Tom Brady could be throwing the ball to his old buddy more often. The Bears are more lenient against tight ends than wideouts, as they are middle-of-the-pack in points allowed to fantasy TEs. There is some risk here considering Gronk has had only one good game so far during the season (Week 3, six receptions, seven targets, 48 yards), but there is that chance he will see more production simply because the wide receivers are all injured.
