Robbie Anderson Dealing With Quad Injury
2 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said that wide receiver Robbie Anderson (quadriceps) is dealing with a quadriceps injury at training camp. Anderson is currently being held out of practice, and it remains to be seen if he'll suit up for Friday's second preseason game against the New England Patriots. It doesn't sound like his injury is all that serious, but he's missing valuable practice time to build chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield, who will likely win the open QB competition over Sam Darnold. Anderson had his first 1,000-yard season in 2020 in his first year in Carolina but fell back to Earth in 2021 with 53 catches for 519 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games. Even with a potential upgrade in Mayfield this year at QB, Anderson will probably go undrafted in most standard 12-team leagues.
