6 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Robbie Grossman led off and played left field for the Athletics on Thursday. He went 2-for-4 with a run in the team's 4-0 win over the Angels. It has been speculated that Grossman would see time as the A's leadoff hitter and he didn't disappoint in his first opportunity of the year. He's a versatile outfielder as well as a switch-hitter so he'll find plenty of playing time this season. Although they faced a right-handed starter today, Grossman has had much better success against southpaws for his career and figures to remain in the leadoff spot at least for these occasions. He doesn't offer much power or speed but can put up a respectable batting average as well as a good run total in 2019. Grossman is usable in DFS and is realistically just an AL-only option for season-long formats.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
