3 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Robbie Ray was not sharp despite earning the win in Monday's 7-4 game against the Astros. Ray pitched 5 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits (including three home runs) and three walks with three strikeouts. The 2021 American League Cy Young winner has not looked anywhere close to his previous season and is now 5-6 with a 4.97 ERA, 77 strikeouts, and 27 walks over 12 starts and 70 2/3 IP. Both his walks and HR have crept up and resemble some of his more unsuccessful season's marks. At this point, fantasy managers can only hope he can regain some of his form, although that may be tough in his next matchup against the Red Sox. It would not be outlandish for fantasy manager to consider sitting Ray in this matchup if they have enough pitching depth.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
