4 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Robbie Ray is dealing with a bruised left elbow after slipping and falling down some stairs a few days ago at home. General manager Ross Atkins told reporters on Tuesday that the left-hander should only miss one spring start and he could be ready for the team's opening series. Ray will take a few days off before throwing a side bullpen session and see how his elbow responds. While this doesn't sound like a serious issue it could delay the start of Ray's regular season. He's been locked in so far this spring, putting up a 1.98 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 18:5 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings. The 29-year-old LHP possesses high strikeout upside but free passes have always been an issue for him. The spring stats are encouraging but he's still a back-end fantasy rotation arm, at best.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
