4 years agoToronto Blue Jays starter Robbie Ray struck out seven Detroit Tigers on Friday. The veteran right-hander also continued his run of new-found control and issued just one free pass in 5.1 innings. Over four starts this spring, Ray has a K-BB of 18-5 in 13.2 innings and he's allowed just six hits. Prior to his trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2020, he allowed 31 walks in 31 innings of work. As a Blue Jay last year, he allowed 14 walks in 20.2 innings. Along with his improved control under the Blue Jays' watch, Ray is also throwing harder this year and on Friday he sat at 96 mph and touched 98 mph. He looks like the Jays' No. 2 starter entering the season.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
