Roberto Osuna’s Administrative Leave Extended Again
6 years agoIn the “headlines that we’ve written before” category, the administrative leave for Toronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna has once again been extended by Major League Baseball. The extension is for another week, taking us through June 18. Same old story here. The administrative leave is simply a transactional formality; we won’t know much of anything else as to Osuna’s status until, at minimum, his hearing for an assault charge on June 18. Even then, we wouldn’t expect this to get resolved right away. Regardless of guilt or innocence, given MLB’s disciplinary history it feels comfortable to say he’ll likely be suspended to some degree. In Osuna’s absence, Ryan Tepera has emerged as the reliever to own for saves in Toronto.
