Roberto Perez Homers On Opening Day
4 years agoCleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in the Tribe's 3-2 Opening Day loss to the Detroit Tigers. It was a solid day for Perez as he managed to draw two of Matthew Boyd's four total walks in addition to the home run. While Perez is not known for his power numbers, he did manage to hit 24 bombs in 2019 and could become a decent supply of power at a sparse position once again in 2021. He will serve as the Indians' top catcher on the depth chart and could have some fantasy appeal if he continues to play as he did today.
