3 years agoNew York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano will be coming to spring training camp, but it's uncertain what his role will be in 2022. The new designated hitter spot in the National League may help Cano's chances, but Pete Alonso, Dominic Smith and J.D. Davis are also daily DH candidates for the Mets. Cano was suspended for all of the 2021 season after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. But he's expected back with the team this year and was hitting well in winter ball. The 39-year-old veteran has made eight All-Star teams in his illustrious career and did hit .316/.352/.544 with 10 home runs and 30 RBI in 49 games in the shortened 2020 season, but he may end up being just a part-time player for the Mets in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
