4 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos rejoined the active roster Monday, getting immediately inserted into the starting nine at the DH slot against A’s left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Chirinos has been out of the mix since Aug. 10 due to a sprained right ankle, allowing Jose Trevino and Jeff Mathis to hold down catching duties. Both figure to see a slight decrease in usage with Chirinos back, although it’s possible that he seems some time at DH to keep him fresh. His bat has gotten off to a slow start this season, slashing just .129/.243/.161 through his first 11 games, having stunted his season-long intrigue.--Jesse Borek
