Rockies Sign C.J. Cron To Minor League Deal
4 years agoThe Colorado Rockies announced on Monday that they have signed first baseman C.J. Cron to a minor league contract with an invitation to their 2021 MLB spring training camp. In a limited 42 at-bats for the Tigers in 2020, Cron hit four home runs, to go with eight RBI and a brutal .190 average. Despite the forgettable 2020 season, he is just two years removed from a 2019 campaign with the Twins in which he posted a .253/.311/.469 slash line, to go with 25 HR and 78 RBI. With the potential to call Coors Field home, Cron could prove to be a late-round steal for managers in NL-only and deep mixed leagues if he makes the Colorado MLB roster and gets playing time at first base in front of Josh Fuentes and Ian Desmond.
