Rockies Staying In Touch With Carlos Gonzalez's Agent
7 years agoColorado Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich said that he has remained in contact with free-agent outfielder Carlos Gonzalez's agent, Scott Boras. There really hasn't been a market that has developed for Car-Go, who struggled mightily in his age-31 season last year. Gonzalez finished hitting .261 with only 14 home runs and 57 RBI in 136 games, and he continued to show next to nothing on the road (.203/.274/.332 with six homers and 15 RBI in 66 games). He also failed against southpaws. There still doesn't seem to be much of a chance the Rockies bring Gonzalez back with David Dahl and Raimel Tapia waiting for everyday at-bats, and Gonzalez's already plummeting fantasy value will take another hit if he leaves Colorado.
