Roenis Elias Notches 10th Save Of The Year
6 years agoSeattle Mariners reliever Roenis Elias worked two scoreless frames Wednesday, closing out the team's 4-2 win. The lefty struck out a pair in the outing and has now racked up five saves over his last six appearances on the mound. For the season, Elias has a 3.41 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 38 punchouts in 37.0 innings pitched proving to be the most reliable arm in the M's bullpen. The fact that he's getting handed all the save opportunities makes Elias valuable in all mixed leagues, and he could hold off Hunter Strickland for the job when he returns from injury sometime next month.
