Roman Quinn Making A Push For Center Field Job
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Roman Quinn is batting .323 across 34 Grapefruit League plate appearances as the battle for the starting center field job heads into the final week. Quinn is competing with Scott Kingery, Adam Haseley and Odubel Herrera for a starting role on the Opening Day roster. Quinn's spring numbers look better than his competition, but he has also struck out 12 times, which has held him back in the past, including last season when he posted an awful 33.6% strikeout rate in 41 games. If Quinn can hit the ball, he would be a productive player thanks to his 100th-percentile sprint speed that's led to three steals this spring without being caught. Quinn is an intriguing late-round target for steals in deeper category-based fantasy leagues.
