Ron Rivera Trusts Antonio Gibson
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson still has the trust of his head coach despite some fumbling issues during the preseason and training camp. When asked how he plans to use Gibson, Ron Rivera said, "we're going to give him the football and I have no issue with that." The third-year back will be the lead runner for at least the first four weeks of the season as Brian Robinson Jr. (leg) was placed on the non-football injury list ahead of the team's season opener. Gibson should see the bulk of the carries in the team's Week 1 matchup with the Jaguars, but J.D. McKissic figures to take on more of a role as the pass-catching option out of the backfield. Still, the 24-year-old should be able to return low-end RB2/FLEX value.
