Ronald Acuna Jr. Resting Against Rangers
3 years agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is getting the day off on Friday against the Texas Rangers after returning from the injured list to make his season debut on Thursday. Acuna returned from tearing his ACL last July and went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases against the Chicago Cubs. Travis Demeritte is taking Acuna's place in right field and in the leadoff spot in the series opener against Rangers right-hander Garrett Richards on Friday. The Braves are going to ease their star outfielder back into action, so don't be surprised if Acuna has regular off days built into his schedule moving into next week. Demeritte has five hits in 14 at-bats in his first five games of the year, including a double and home run, but he'll still be a deep DFS sleeper out of the leadoff spot.
