4 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman lost his starting role at the position to Nate Lowe but the injury to Khris Davis (quad) could allow Guzman to see regular playing time. He actually outperformed Lowe this spring (OPS of 1.001 vs .646) but he finds himself without a guaranteed home in the everyday lineup. Along with Davis, Willie Calhoun (groin) is also out with an injury and he too was expected to see time at DH. The 26-year-old Guzman has struggled to produce at the MLB level but he provided a 104 wRC+ in his third taste of big-league action in 2020. Along with first base and DH, it's expected that he could also see some time in the corner outfield.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
