Ronald Torreyes Belts Go-Ahead Three-Run Homer Versus Bucs
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies infielder Ronald Torreyes hit a go-ahead three-run homer to help defeat the Pirates on Thursday. Torreyes didn't start the game and was greeted with boos from the Philly crowd as his pinch-hit appearance meant Aaron Nola was out of the game despite throwing just 80 pitches through six innings. Those boos turned to cheers with one swing of the bat as Torreyes launched a three-run homer to cap a six-run comeback. The diminutive utilityman has been a valuable asset for the Phillies off the bench and he sealed his place in Phillies lore if this win helps chase down Atlanta for a division title. He's less valuable in fantasy, however, and Torreyes should be left on waivers in all formats.
