Roquan Smith Set For Holdout
2 years agoChicago Bears All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith will not be participating in training camp when veterans are scheduled to report on Tuesday, according to sources. Smith has yet to receive a long-term extension offer that he would remotely consider, so he will wait. The 25-year-old has been a tackling machine the last two years, combining for 193 solo tackles, seven sacks, 30 tackles for loss, 10 QB hits, three interceptions (one for a touchdown), 10 passes defensed, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 33 games. The Bears should be able to get something worked out with one of the best linebackers in the game. Assuming Smith is ready for Week 1, he should be a top linebacker target in IDP leagues with 100-plus tackles in all four of his NFL seasons.
