Rosell Herrera Collects Another Two Hits On Thursday
5 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Rosell Herrera stayed hot on Thursday with a two-hit game, bringing his spring training OPS to a ridiculous 1.460. The Yankees signed Herrera to a minor league contract in January, and a strong spring training has given Herrera a shot at cracking the Opening Day roster. Herrera hasn’t had a particularly impressive minor league career with a .741 OPS over 10 seasons, though he did steal 138 bases. If Herrera does manage to start the regular season in the major leagues, he’ll likely be a utility player after playing in the outfield and at second base so far this spring. Fantasy owners shouldn’t overreact to spring training numbers and it's unlikely that Herrera sees regular playing time in 2020, but those in need of stolen bases should have Herrera on their radar as the season approaches given his impressive spring training.
