3 years agoChicago Cubs pitcher Rowan Wick struck out two over two scoreless innings to earn the save during Wednesday's 7-5 win over the San Diego Padres. He entered the game in the eighth inning to protect a two-run lead. The 29-year-old retired all six batters he faced to earn his second save of the season. He owns a 0.77 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 14:5 K: BB across 11 2/3 innings in 2022. Wick should continue to see save opportunities while the team's primary closer David Robertson (undisclosed), is on the injured list.
