Rowdy Tellez Dealing With Mild Hamstring Strain
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Rowdy Tellez (hamstring) is dealing with a "mild strain" in his hamstring, according to manager Charlie Montoyo. Tellez seemed to slip on home plate after hitting a single on Sunday and was replaced with a pinch-runner. The 26-year-old masher was off to a slow start at the plate this season and even spent some time in the minors. He's batting .188 and has a pitiful .225 on-base percentage thanks to a minuscule 2.2 percent walk rate. Worst of all, Tellez is only slugging .282, well below the robust .540 slugging percentage he put up last year. Tellez is not an attractive fantasy option at this point, even if the hamstring injury doesn't land him on the injured list.
