4 years agoToronto Blue Jays designated hitter Rowdy Tellez cranked his first homer of the spring off of Phillies right-hander Jake Arrieta on Tuesday. The bomb was of the three-run variety as he added an RBI double to put his early Grapefruit League total to six. Tellez is currently on the roster bubble with his limited defensive ability combined with the fact that the Jays added several infielders this offseason. If he can prove he can handle big-league pitching after slashing an underwhelming .227/.293/.449 last season, he'll likely serve as the primary DH versus righties. Tellez isn't more than an AL-only power threat at the moment, but could carry some mixed-league appeal if he earns consistent playing time.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
