7 years agoThe Kansas City Royals say that they will stand pat and will not pursue any other marquee free agents now that former first baseman chose the San Diego Padres on Saturday. That presumably also includes free-agent third baseman Mike Moustakas, who remains available in free agency. Moose posted a career-high 38 home runs in 2017 by boosting his fly-ball percentage from 39.6 percent to 45.7 percent. He also fared much better against southpaws and made plenty of contact. It'll be hard for Moustakas to improve on those numbers in 2018, but a move to a more hitter-friendly environment could help him at least come close. There hasn't really been a market for his services this offseason, but someone will bite eventually. Stay tuned.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
