Royals Won't Trade Zack Greinke
2 years agoKansas City Royals future Hall of Famer Zack Greinke could probably help a contending team this year, but the Royals have decided not to deal him. The rebuilding Royals will keep the 38-year-old veteran around to close out the 2022 season. In 17 starts (87 2/3 innings), Greinke has gone 3-6 with a 4.41 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 50 strikeouts and 18 walks. He still has pinpoint control with his pitches, but a career-low 13.4 percent strikeout rate has made Greinke pretty much useless in fantasy towards the end of his career. He would've been a bit more intriguing if pitching for a contender the rest of the way, but it looks like that won't be happening.
