Royce Lewis Doing Some Running
3 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop prospect Royce Lewis (knee), who missed all of last season after tearing his ACL, reported to spring camp on Friday and was doing some running drills on Saturday. Lewis is the team's top prospect and is ranked as the No. 35 overall prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline. The former first overall pick in 2017 has missed most of the last three years due to injury, so it speaks to his level of talent that he has a realistic shot to make his major league debut later on in 2022 if he's fully healthy. Lewis is a five-tool talent when he's on the field, but his swing can get big at times and lead to a loss of approach at the plate. His plus speed and athleticism also makes him a base-stealing threat at the 6.
