Russell Martin Plays Shortstop In Blowout Loss
7 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays pulled an unorthodox move with catcher Russell Martin and switched him over to shortstop in the eighth inning of a 12-2 loss to the New York Mets on Tuesday. It was Martin’s first career appearance at shortstop, and there’s a good chance it’s the last. Martin didn’t have any putout attempts at short, but something tells us Toronto is better as a team with him behind the dish. Don’t expect additional positional eligibility here anytime soon.
