Russell Wilson Speeding Up Broncos Offense
2 years agoDenver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett said on Wednesday that it will be up to quarterback Russell Wilson to set the pace for the offense during training camp and into the season. And after two days of practices, it's clear Wilson wants to press his foot firmly on the accelerator. The increased pace of the offense is unmistakable, even when measured against the workouts of the offseason program. The Broncos ranked 28th in the league in pace of play last year, according to Football Outsiders, with an average play time between snaps of 29.45 seconds. The Seahawks under Wilson in 2021 ranked sixth. A fast-paced offense doesn't always mean an efficient offense, but this should be good news for a Wilson-led Broncos offense in 2022, and Wilson should be seen as a top-10 fantasy QB in his new digs.
