4 years agoAfter flip-flopping wins and losses since 2012, Ryan Benoit lost his second bout in a row, this time by unanimous decision to Tim Elliott on Wednesday night. Benoit landed a few less significant strikes than his opponent with 55, but Benoit connected at a better rate of 45%. His takedown defense was amazing, stuffing 12 of Elliott's 13 takedown attempts. Benoit did have some moments in the fight where his striking was highlighted. He even almost landed a kneebar in the second round. Benoit is a hard-nosed, high-pace fighter, but so was his opponent. The Texas native has been in the UFC for eight years, and that's because he can get the job done. Let's just see who he is paired up with for his next contest.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
