Ryan Brasier Suffers Second Blown Save
6 years agoBoston Red Sox reliever Ryan Brasier couldn’t shut the door on the White Sox on Thursday night as he let up a three-run home run to Nick Delmonico in the ninth. Matt Barnes was brought into the eighth inning and struck out the White Sox's two, three and four hitters in order. The two earned runs were the first runs that Brasier has let up since his last blown save against the Yankees in mid-April. That one was a grand slam off the bat of Brett Gardner. Overall, Brasier owns a solid 2.57 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 14 innings with six saves. With Barnes picking up the most high-leverage innings, Brasier should continue to see save opportunities, considering the Red Sox don’t really have any other options at the moment. Hang on and hope he shakes this one off quick.
