Ryan Castellani Optioned To Triple-A On Tuesday
4 years agoColorado Rockies pitcher right-handed pitcher Ryan Castellani was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. The 24-year-old right-hander entered camp competing for a roster spot in the Rockies rotation, but things did not go well in the Cactus League. He allowed 10 runs (seven earned) over two innings pitched. He was a long shot to crack the rotation in the first place, but his spring performance certainly didn't help his cause. Castellani made his major league debut during the shortened 2020 campaign and struggled with a 5.82 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 25:26 K/BB ratio over 43 1/3 innings. He will likely get called up at some point in 2021 for the rebuilding Rockies, so this isn't the last we've heard of him. He won't be on the fantasy radar when that call-up happens, though.
