3 years agoWashington Football Team quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was officially named the starter for the Week 1 opener against the visiting Chargers. This isn't a surprise, although the announcement is undoubtedly comforting for fantasy managers, especially those in dynasty leagues or who have already drafted. Fitzpatrick will be playing for his ninth team during the 2021-22 campaign, and he had 2,091 yards and 13 touchdowns (eight picks) throughout nine games with the Miami Dolphins last season. Nonetheless, the 38-year-old shouldn't have much competition for his job, so it's reasonable to assume he will surely see an uptick in fantasy production moving ahead, assuming he plays well enough to keep the starting gig. Nonetheless, Fitzpatrick's statistical output likely won't be an issue as he has plenty of weapons at his disposal in Washington, although he may have a few rough outings moving ahead.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
