3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers had the most productive day of his career at the plate in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers. Jeffers clubbed a grand slam in the fourth inning, then followed it up with a two-run shot in the eighth, both homers registering exit velocities of 100 MPH or greater. The 24-year-old backstop could draw several more starts in the coming days with Mitch Garver (hand) banged up after being hit by a pitch. Jeffers has been a streaky hitter this season but has solid upside when he's on at the dish, as evidenced by a June stretch where he swatted five homers in 15 games.--Tim Capurso
