6 years agoWashington Nationals relief pitcher Ryan Madson (chest) was activated off the disabled list on Thursday. Madson had been sidelined with a chest strain after pitching in three of four games during the series at Arizona a couple weeks back. Madson is a nice waiver wire target in holds leagues and deeper leagues where a heavy reliever strategy is viable. Prior to his injury, Madson appeared in 21 games for the Nationals, racking up three saves and six holds. Don't worry about his 4.19 ERA -- it's actually a buying opportunity at this point. Madson has posted an excellent 2.13 FIP and 3.33 K/BB ratio in 2018.--Phil Goyette
