7 years agoWashington Nationals reliever Ryan Madson earned his second save of the season on Monday against the Mets. Regular closer Sean Doolittle was unavailable after throwing 20 pitches on Sunday, his second appearance in a row over the weekend. Madson gave up one hit and struck out a batter. Eight of his 11 pitches went for strikes. Madson is incredibly useful in leagues that count saves and/or holds. He'll be given plenty of both with the Nationals intending to make another playoff run.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
