7 years agoWashington Nationals reliever Ryan Madson had a rough outing against the Mets on Wednesday. Facing the first-place rivals for the third straight day, he gave up six earned runs on five hits with one walk and one strikeout. Madson only lasted two-thirds of an inning. While the outcome is startling, Madson has pitched in 11 of the team's 19 games this season. He was overworked, plain and simple. He's still a solid source for holds and is next in line for saves should closer Sean Doolittle go down for any reason. Sometimes it's just not your day.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
