Ryan McMahon Goes 2-For-4 With A Home Run
4 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Ryan McMahon went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a strikeout in Friday's 11-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. McMahon started at second base and was batting sixth after riding the pine on Opening Day against the left-handed Clayton Kershaw. He smacked a two-run shot off Trevor Bauer in the bottom of the seventh, part of a six-run inning for Colorado. He tacked on a single later in the game as well. The 26-year-old has a rough 2020 season when he hit just .215 with a .715 OPS and a brutal 66:18 K/BB ratio over 52 games. He swings and misses a lot but he's got a safe floor for power taking half of his at-bats in Coors Field. He should see regular at-bats at second base for as long as Brendan Rodgers is out.
