5 years agoBaltimore Orioles infield prospect Ryan Mountcastle went 3-for-5 with three home runs and five RBI on Sunday for Triple-A Norfolk. With the strong performance, Mountcastle is now hitting .328 with 11 home runs and 39 RBI. Mountcastle recently missed a few games with a wrist injury, but that didn’t appear to bother him Sunday. The 22-year-old came up as a middle infielder, but has been playing first base this year and has even gotten some reps as an outfielder. Mountcastle’s bat has never been in question, but his defense has and that may be the only thing holding him back from everyday at-bats at the big league level. Mountcastle should make his debut at some point in 2019 and fantasy owners will want to be quick to snag him up when that time comes.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
