Ryan Mountcastle Not Playing Thursday
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (neck) is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the New York Yankees. Mountcastle was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to neck stiffness and will get another day to rest. Trey Mancini will get the start at first base and hit third, while Cedric Mullins will serve as the designated hitter and bat leadoff against Yankees right-hander Jameson Taillon. Ryan McKenna is in center field and is batting seventh. Mountcastle is hitting .232 (16-for-69) with a homer, seven RBI, six runs scored and one stolen base in his first 17 games of the 2022 season. The 25-year-old's injury doesn't appear to be too serious, so fantasy managers should check back to see if he's in the lineup on Friday.
