3 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Ryan Mountcastle (arm) is expected to be ready to return to the lineup on Friday following the All-Star break, according to Dan Connolly of The Athletic. Mountcastle had exited Sunday's game with a forearm contusion after being hit by a pitch in the first inning, but it appears he managed to avoid any significant injury. Manager Brandon Hyde said that the team and medical staff will remain in touch with Mountcastle during the break, but the expectation is he'll be able to start once play resumes Friday. This is great news for managers who have been enjoying the production from Mountcastle's bat this season, as he is slashing .255/.303/.447 with 14 homers, three steals, 48 RBI and 39 runs scored over 82 games.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
