3 years agoHouston Astros closer Ryan Pressly picked up his 12th save of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rangers. Pressley entered the game in the ninth inning with a one-run lead. He allowed a leadoff single, induced a groundball double play, allowed another single, and got the final out on a pop-out. The 33-year-old has now converted all but two save opportunities this season and has a solid 2.70 ERA, although his 6.48 K/9 rate is much lower than his mark of 11.39 from 2021. This may have to do with the fact that his fastball velocity has been down to 93.8 MPH, compared to 95.4 MPH from a season ago. While this isn't great for fantasy managers, Pressly has still pitched well and should have the closer's role in hand until further notice.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
