6 years agoOn June 30, the Toronto Blue Jays placed closer Ryan Tepera on the 10-day disabled list due to right elbow inflammation. As of Tuesday, Tepera continues to be in a period of active rest but will be re-evaluated for throwing later in the week. Through 39 1/3 innings pitched this season, most of which he was not the closer for, Tepera owns a 2.97 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with six saves and 43 strikeouts against 12 walks. In his absence, the Jays will likely continue to use some combination of Tyler Clippard and Seung Hwan Oh in the ninth inning. Neither inspire much confidence for fantasy purposes, but they could be worth an add if you’re desperate for saves and they are still available.--John Smith
