2 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Ryan Thompson tossed a scoreless inning to earn the save during Thursday's 3-1 win over the Texas Rangers. He entered the ninth inning to protect a 3-1 lead. The 29-year-old needed just eight pitches to retire the side and earn this third save of the season. He owns a 6.50 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 14 strikeouts over 18 innings in 2022. Tampa Bay continues to rotate relievers for save opportunities while Andrew Kittredge (back) is on the 15-day injured list.
