Ryon Healy Slugging .600 In May
7 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Ryon Healy has been a huge boost to the offense since returning from a sprained ankle on April 26. Healy is slashing .314/.351/.600 through 35 at-bats in the month of May with three home runs and six runs batted in. Healy is not the type of hitter to work a count (three walks and 17 strikeouts) but is more of a grip-it-and-rip-it type of presence. The Mariners struggled to find offensive production from the first base position in 2017 and acquired Healy's power to pump up that spot. Thus far, the move has paid off, as the Mariners are now 21-15 and Healy is producing from the bottom half of the lineup. His fantasy value will be depressed by his all-or-nothing approach at the plate, but he can be a valuable short-term option during this hot streak.
