Saints Re-Sign Juwan Johnson To One-Year Deal
3 years agoThe New Orleans Saints re-signed tight end Juwan Johnson to a one-year contract extension on Thursday, according to a source. Johnson was scheduled to be an exclusive-rights free agent next month. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In his second season in the NFL in 2021, Johnson had 13 receptions on 22 targets for 159 yards and four touchdowns for the Saints in 14 games (two starts). The 25-year-old has 17 catches for 198 yards and four touchdowns on 32 targets in his first two seasons with the Saints. He'll continue to provide tight end depth alongside Adam Trautman and Nick Vannett, but he won't be much of a fantasy asset unless injuries cause both Trautman and Vannett to miss time in 2022.
