Sam Darnold Hopes To Stick With Jets Beyond 2020
4 years agoNew York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold's confidence has not wavered in the midst of an 0-13 season, at least not publicly. The quarterback reasserted Monday that he believed he was the long-term solution for the team under center and that he wanted to be a Jet "for life," but also recognized the position that the team was in entering the 2021 NFL Draft, where Clemson's Trevor Lawrence likely awaits. Darnold's numbers have taken a severe dip in '20, although how much of that is due to his team's offensive line play and lack of offensive weapons is up for interpretation. Other organizations have reportedly shown interest in the 23-year-old, who undoubtedly will only see his fantasy value increase if he is moved to a new organization. Down the stretch, Darnold is a tough sell even in two-QB leagues due to the Jets' wholesale struggles.
